I received my Ph.D. for work studying the ratio of the second to fourth digit (2D:4D) in relation to face and body shape. My ongoing research includes studies on fluctuating symmetry in humans, mate choice, physical attractiveness, sexual dimorphism, and fetal programming.

Currently, I am a research scientist at the University of Goettingen, Germany. I am head of a research group, funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG), which investigates the evolutionary psychology of human physical appearance and movement.
